On the ground, Max leads well, stops, backs up, and yields his shoulders and hindquarters. He loads and unloads from the trailer, ties quietly, respects your space, and stands well for grooming and farrier work. He picks up all four feet without a fuss.
Under saddle, Max is easy to mount and has good steering and brakes. He moves comfortably through his walk, trot, and canter transitions and is responsive without being overly sensitive. He is athletic and willing, making him suitable for a variety of activities including trail riding, barrel racing, roping, goat tying, lessons, and family or youth riding.
He is comfortable around other horses, dogs, livestock, vehicles, machinery, children, and busy environments. He handles trails, arenas, and new places well and has the kind of attitude that helps build rider confidence.
Max is sound and moves freely at the walk, trot, and canter. He is comfortable with turns, backing, and circles and has balanced, athletic movement. He has good feet and legs and receives regular farrier care.
His teeth were done in July of this year.
