HOPSCOTCHBOLDENFORCER

AKA; Scotch

Scotch is undoubtedly the most charming and popular gelding at the barn, capturing the hearts of everyone who meets him! He embodies the ideal lesson horse for kids and inexperienced riders, making him a beloved character among young and old alike! My 2-year-old can hang out with him all day without me being worried he’ll even take a wrong step; he’s also one of the few horses we let her ride all by herself! He is one of the most reliable and safe geldings you’ll meet.

This sweet, goofy, and honest gelding is always the first to greet you at the gate. His friendly disposition shines through as he enjoys the company of both people and horses. Scotch gets along wonderfully with all other livestock on the farm, and he’s a breeze for the vet and farrier to handle. Scotch stands patiently tied, loads effortlessly, and adores baths and grooming sessions. Tack and mounting are easy with him, and he helps build confidence with unsure learners!

Having experience in a variety of disciplines, Scotch boasts an impressive western pleasure jog that anyone can sit, a rocking horse lope as well as an exceptional stop, smooth rollbacks, and even has the beginnings of a showmanship pattern.
Scotty responds well to voice-commands as well as leg cues! He also has the start of a spin and a sidepass.

But that’s not all—Scotch is also getting adept and into English riding! He has dabbled in the very beginner cavaletti work and has enjoyed popping over cross rails, displaying a beautiful frame and collection while demonstrating an awareness of his body. We’ve even introduced him to the fundamentals of dressage, where he shows great potential with continued focus.

Scotch’s true passion, we have to say, lies in trail riding and ranch work. He thrives in outdoor settings, confidently navigating through mountainous terrains and steep hills with ease. He can go all day and is a drop your reins and go type of horse—making every trail ride a fun one. He has even been out in town after dark cruising through downtown Fort Collins as well! AND AND with a young kiddo on him!
Scotch has been roped off of, pushed cattle, and even been around for a couple of brandings.
You won’t find a safer horse to throw your beginner riders or young kiddos on. He is the definition of a reliable horse!
